Jurong Junior College (JJC) was the ninth junior college established by the Ministry of Education. Under the stewardship of its first Principal Mr Koh Beng Thiam, JJC welcomed its first students in April 1981. It was temporarily housed at West Coast Road, next to Pandan Reservoir, until it moved to its current campus at 800 Corporation Road in 1985. Since 1986, JJC has progressed under the leadership of three more Principals, namely, Mr V. Govindarrasu, Ms Ching Ah Kim and Mr Koh Yong Chiah. Miss Tay Lai Ling took over as the college principal from 2010.
JJC is the fourth Language Elective Programme (Chinese) Centre and the Centre of Excellence for Character Development in the West Zone. It was the first junior college in Singapore to receive the Outstanding Development Award for Character Development in 2006. The College was revalidated for this award in 2011.
In 2016, the college saw a change of school leadership as Dr Hang Kim Hoo took the helm and continued the JJC legacy of nurturing and inspiring success.
