JJC CD Lionhearters organise “SGSecure Week” in collaboration with SCDF
In support of the SGSecure movement, JJC’s CD Lionhearters Club organized a series of activities for the school between 9 and 12 April. The Lionhearters promoted awareness about the threat of terrorism in Singapore and emergency preparedness skills through quizzes and morning assembly skits. The SGSecure exhibition panels in the canteen also provided another avenue for students to learn about the “Run, Hide and Tell” procedure in the event of a terrorist attack. In addition, our Lionhearters designed and produced over 600 First Aid information cards for students. These cards provided simple tips for students to deal with simple injuries such as a cut or sprain.
The Lionhearters Club also collaborated with SCDF to organize the Response Ready Programme for the 14th year, which trained the students in practical emergency preparedness skills such as iFAS, CPR and fire-fighting. During the programme, the Lionhearters also held quizzes to check whether the participants understood the skills which they had learnt. Students found the programme beneficial for them, as they could apply these skills to help family and friends affected in an emergency. We wish to thank the SCDF officers for equipping our students with these important skills!
After one week of engaging activities, we hope our students will continue to play a part in supporting the SGSecure movement to strengthen the resilience of our nation.
