CLEP Camp By Winson lee (18S25)
The CLEP Camp is held annually during the June holidays with this year being the 27th year of CLEP camp. It was held at the NUS U Town with the theme “Film and Literature”. There was a series of forums on literature and films and for one of the forums, MOE invited local director, Anthony Chen to share on his pursuit of dreams and success, and also the production of films and the writing of movie reviews.
The highlight of the camp had always been on the last night when students put up their group performances which they had started preparing since the first day of the camp. The performances were adapted from snippets of local films and the students put up hilarious performances which evoked laughter from the audience.
The main in-charge of the camp, Mdm Yen Fong Cheng, mentioned that from this camp, the students realised, and were able to experience that, literature indeed lies in every aspect of our lives. She hoped that the camp had been an enriching experience for the students and that they could now walk into cinemas and appreciate films from various perspectives, and that the friendships forged in the camp would last.
